Blowin' My Own Trumpet...

- well, not that I am, but a review on Hellnotes had this to say...

"If this collection doesn’t sweep the International Horror Guild and the Stokers awards next year, and get some respectable page space in Ellen Datlow’s Year’s Best Fantasy and Horror, there is no justice."

...about the anthology Read By Dawn, which I made an oh-so-brief appearance in earlier this year with my good buddy Ramsey Campbell (which reminds me, he ain't returned any of my calls yet).

OK, so the quote isn't necessarily pointed at myself, but hey, who knows?

Hiya Brian!

I've got Read by Dawn currently sitting on top of my ever-shifting 'to read' pile, though I've got to say, the review on Hellnotes is doing wonders for making it stay there...

Good to see another body with the collection, however it should be in your 'in-the-middle-of-readin' pile instead...

;o)

You must feel proud you were singled out for special praise, Brian. Your contribution to the anthology sticks with the reader for a long time after reading it - a sure sign that you did your job well. Congrats. Maybe you should clear a space on the mantel for a Stoker, eh?

Best,
Steven

Well, I always have wanted to try my hand at Espanol.

On a more serious note however... this is the scourge of online writin' -- the lack of privacy and individuality.

It begs the question, is that really my work anymore?
