Where I Was At...

My wife turned (she won't thank me for saying) thirty-four on the weekend, so I took her to the Pool House Hotel for a couple of nights. To relax. To unwind. To get-away-from-it-all.

It's 180 miles west and quite a long drive - especially if you use Google Map, which I believe with absolute certainty, is determined to mess with me - but the great views along the way make it worhwhile.

As it turned out, we were the only guests in the seven-room hotel, so we had personal service throughout. The seven course meal each evening was perhaps a little rich for my blood - and I don't think The Wife appreciated the buckshot in her wood pigeon - but it made a welcome change from pizza and garlic bread.

I would definitely recommended it if you are ever looking for a romantic getaway this far north. Very peaceful: very quiet.

Of course, my wallet is a little lighter, but...

Ben, you would be correct about the age thing! But I have only been married a couple of years: I'm still learnin' the ropes.
