Yesterday I completed a 3,500 word story - the longest piece I have written for over two years. I have penned a number of sub one thousand word pieces this year - several of which I'm sure can and will be expanded at some point - but as fellow author Steven J Dines alluded to on his blog, who the hell cares about those really short stories?
I was concerned - albeit only fleetingly - that the well was drying up. If it does, it does. Not much I can do about it. Still, I have another couple of pieces that should (will) be completed this year, and both of those weigh in with at least as many words as yesterday's effort, so I'm good for another few months at least.
Then, I suppose there's always the novel...

Heh heh. The novel.
I dried up for ten years--ooer, that sounds alarming--before starting up again.
:o)
i don't honestly think the ideas are gettin' thin on the ground, but it is somethin' that crosses my mind from time to time.
The novel? I'm always puttin' that off...
